Big day today! π
My rebellious side is showing. I just had the rest of the after dinner chocolates for breakfast!
Turns out I had leftover Easter chocolate!!!
Internet organised ready for move in at my new place!
Now, I might also need some kitchenware…
Me: I’m only a little taller than the length of my desk top.
Followed by: spending 15 minutes collapsing the seats in the back of my car and lying in it at various angles to see if the top of my desk will fit.
It does not, I’ll need help moving!
If it’s this hot tomorrow I’m not going to work. I’ve struggled every day this week and I’m doing my best - but I have time booked off tomorrow anyway and may as well use it to relax as well as get things done!
It’s ice cream o’clock!
Me: The wifi in this back bedroom is not great, can we do something to fix that for when I’m podcasting?
My parents: π€¨
Me: So, I’ll just run a 20m ethernet cable from the router, up the stairs, across the landing (upstairs hallway), and plug that in, ok?
2 days and 4.5 hours of packing… Thank goodness I have two days to recover before the moving van arrives!!
I bought a portable monitor, 15.6", USB C powered (5V, yes, a phone charger will power it - also a battery pack!).
This will be good for everything from a second monitor while on the road, to a portable TV (with my Chromecast/Nintendo Switch/Pi Zero W), and is also really handy while moving as I sold my regular monitor and wanted to be able to use my Mac Mini but not have to buy and return a regular monitor! Now, back to dreaming of 15.6" of Nintendo Switch gameplay whilst on a plane π€
There are very few tests you want a negative result on, my COVID-19 test so as not to need to quarantine in Austria was one of them - and I got it!
I’m pleased I’m not asymptomatic π€
The airport lounge is open! With an ordering system and delivery to table instead of the usual buffet - smart.
Plus, I got a double chocolate muffin and a fruit salad so I am very cheerful π
The problem with travelling with a bag to check in as well as your carry on when you usually travel carry on only, is the persistent paranoia that you’re going to forget your bag..!
But, I’m on train 2/3 and didn’t forget yet!
Travel time! With the appropriate attire - just in case.
Just as I was starting to get nervous that I wouldn’t get a reply to my email and thinking I’d have to call, I got a reply! If only the rest of life was that easy!!
One Coronavirus test booked, one step closer to moving all my stuff and moving house!
The Blue Danube is not a long enough piece of music to be used as hold music, let alone when there are extended waiting times. In other news, I’m not yet crazy…
And in an exciting step towards my new place… I bought an iron! Now if only I could move in π
I may regret installing the watchOS beta…
I’ve just looked at the start of the outline I made for the next episode of Automators… For something that didn’t get a lot of stage time except image wise Shortcuts sure got a lot of updates!!! π
Apparently part of today’s workout involves standing in line for the supermarket. It’s really hot out here!
I wish Apple and Google had rolled out the COVID19 contact tracing apps themselves. I understand that it would be really difficult to do - but I’m also baffled and frankly horrified that the UK decided the approach they’re using is better. If you tell a machine to exchange anonymous codes with other machines it will do it. If you ask me to identify the man in a blue tshirt who sneezed in the supermarket yesterday… We’re doomed.
I may be waiting for some timeβ¦
My weekly tradition of “go to the supermarket for things my parents couldn’t get, come home, go back for more things they forgot to tell me about” continues π
At least it’s good exercise?
Facebook purchased Giphy. If you’re looking for an alternative I can give GIFwrapped a solid recommendation!
